Dear Shion,
I don’t know whether you’ll ever read this letter. No. 6—or
whatever you’ve decided to call it—isn’t receiving mail until who knows when? I
guess maybe you know when, haha! That really does make me laugh. Not in a bad
way, it’s just… I mean, you dealing with mail and I don’t know, plumbing or whatever,
after everything we did?
You, taking care of all the small things that make life
livable in a city being rebuilt. I bet you hate me for leaving. For not taking
you with me. But I
Sorry, had to think about it and come back to that. I bet
you think I didn’t take you with me because I thought you were too weak for
this journey. That’s not why. It was because I wasn’t… how do I say it?
I don’t know. After everything, I just couldn’t stay. Do you
understand? I hope you understand, one day, when I give you these letters.
Because I can’t send this letter. I probably won’t be able
to send any of them. Even if I could, I wouldn’t know where to send them, or even
how to address them. “His Majesty Shion, Prince of No. 6”?
Gotta laugh. You’d hate that, even if it’s true. So I’m
going to write these letters and keep them, with pictures of where I’ve been,
to show you when I come back someday. I WILL come back, Shion. But I don’t know
when. And I might forget things, and I know you’ll want to know everything,
so…I guess these letters and pictures will be my answer?
I hope you’re okay.
Nezumi
He’s on a journey to wander and see the world. This is the
revival of Nezumi’s Journey!
We’d like to think Nezumi would want to share his adventures
with Shion through pictures and letters. Though, of course there is no
guarantee they will actually be sent to Shion. What does Nezumi really have to
say to him that he would never actually tell him in person? Guess he’ll just
have to share them when he returns. And he WILL return. He promised!
It’s up to you to decide the sights he might have seen and
what he has to say about it!
Maybe there’s a scenic view in your back yard or maybe
you’ve been on a trip and took some great photos. Any place you think Nezumi
might have visited will do! Download one of these little Nezumis by
ahikuboruchi, put him in your photo, add an optional message just like a real
post card, and you’re good to go!
If you’d like to participate, you can submit your picture
(with or without a message to go with it) via our submission page. If you’d
rather post your picture on your own blog, make sure to tag us so that we’ll be
sure to see it!
